Alright Emma, I think I answered your last question on this, but I speak Korean semi-fluently and I know the area alright, but alot of my friends are Korean, so they know the area really well. If you are younger I recommend hitting up Gang Nam, or Sin Chon for a good bar or club scene. If you are a bit older (over 35) you can check out the palaces, and Itaewon (an area designed specifcally for foreigners). If you want to shop I recommend Itaewon (make sure to haggle over prices), Dong Dae Mun, or Nam Dae Mun. Korea is pretty much a safe, and fun place so don't be shy to see as much as you can.

To find some teachers that may be living in Korea, go to Dave's ESL cafe (eslcafe.com) and go to Korea discussion board. You'll have to register with an ID but it's easy and I haven't gotten any spam from it. If you don't like big dirty cities I suggest you get out of Seoul. The East Coast, Kangwon do provence is increadible. Kangneung has a celebration of the first full moon after the Lunar New year. That is quite a show here is a web site for tourism in Korea http://english.tour2korea.com/
It is quite easy to travel by train or bus in Korea. I suggest you get your hand son a copy of the Lonely Planet guide book. Even if you have to buy it, it'll save you a lot of headaches and money.
If you have some time Learn the basics of the Korean alphabet before you go. It is really quite easy and you can do it while you are on your flight in about an hour. Here is a web site: http://www.langintro.com/kintro/

Actually, you won't need much "looking after" in Korea. Most signs are in English as well as Korean, and you can almost always find someone who is more than willing to help you.

I would suggest getting out of Seoul for at least part of your trip! Busan (also spelled Pusan) is a great city to visit.

I don't know what kind of experience you're looking for, but if you go to the following website, it should help you a lot!

Oh!! Remember, you'll probably have jet-lag pretty badly if you're traveling from the States. Give your body some time to adjust!!
