Skype seems to be very good for my home use but is there anything better for an office environment?

Vonage is probally your best bet. It's not free though.

You could try the gizmo project (http://www.gizmoproject.com/) Its the same as skype but open-source.
You can get an "in" and "out" phone number and between PC's the calls are free.

If you want to try setting up your own VOIP service you should check out Trixbox (http://asteriskathome.sourceforge.net/) which gives you a great deal of options but requires some work to setup.
