Ok, I based on the answers let me better ask the question. What cut of meat should one use? I want something that will have good flavor, make good patties, but not be super expensive.

Sirloin. It's less fatty, tastes better, and grinds well because there's not a lot of marbling.

I spent many grinding hours making my own burger interior the 70's whilst floor beef replaced into like determining to purchase gold whilst in comparison with what it was. i could the two ask the butcher for some clean floor beef suet or purchase some much less high priced 1st baron beaverbrook and upload that to my grind. whilst i replaced into complete and it replaced into all in a bowl i could upload diced bell pepper, and onion and garlic powder and a few eggs to make it carry mutually, now and lower back I extra wheat germ additionally. i could mixture with the skinny kitchen gloves and make into patties--great to bbq or fry or bake. they're tasty however the previous hand grinder isn't common. I used chuck or sirloin, london broil, what ever replaced into on sale.

Whatever you can afford to mince, and make that flavour hamburger. Lamb or Pork are nice for a change, Beef is traditional, you could grind up mushy lentils n tofu what ever you like. Personally I like kangaroo burgers, lean n tasty!

Try a cow i suppose, they tend to have hamburger some place inside them. Don't quote me on it. Im just going by what Jack In The Box told me.

If you really have to "Grind" your meat, be sure not to grind the bones in the meat, or it maybe to hard to chew.

To be healthy, use lean meat, preferably beef. Of course, you could use other meats or combinations of meats to be exotic.

If you want a really nice but slightly more expensive burger go for Aberdeen Angus mince, ENJOY.

usually butchers use a fattier cut of meat. thats why they grind it down. its whatever is left after trimming the roasts and steaks :-)

Most people use beef, to make burgers, but if you want to be creative, you can use chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, venison or even fish

try venison, it's good, and very low-fat for a red meat.
