First of all let me LOL. Ok now that's out of my system so I can answer you. I know that debt on the 3 major credit bureaus in the USA (Experian, Transunion, and Equifax) only cover accounts in the USA. So I could run up bills and move to another country and be just fine.

You need to do some research.

First - find out the major credit bureaus in the UK, and the major ones in Aussie also. If they are different you should be fine to not pay your debt.

Second - call your credit card companies and ask them which credit bureaus they report to. It isn't going to look suspicious. Just say that you want to make sure your credit report is accurate, so you need to know which bureaus they report to. If none of those bureaus are used in Aussie then you are DEFINITELY in the clear!

Of course it will be on your credit in the UK for a certain number of years. You will need to check on that to see if its worth it, but if you are making a permanent move to Aussie then you are cool.
