It works for other users just like it works for you.
You can browse other users' files, get/steal what you want and the other users can do the same thing with YOUR files.
In general, it allows other users to get access only to files you have got from limewire. But you can change the settings to specify which folders you want to share/make-available-for-stealing, from your settings.
Limewire, as an application doesn't steal anything. Its users do, especially music.

Limewire stocks a folder orchronic, laid out on your configuration, and facilitates consumers to "acquire" those shared information. All important P2P classes with a bloated person interface do this, so that is not something you receives round. i respect how human beings attempt to assert that this folder is "threat-free" indirectly... Being a secure practices fanatic, i visit truly say that your folder (and each person else's, for that be counted) should be compromised if someone manages to compromise Limewire itself. at the same time as it truly is genuine that a person does not have rights to change that folder, a person that takes the permissions this technique makes use of ought to. regardless of in case you are able to specify in this actual P2P software now to not percentage a folder, you're nonetheless operating the same threat. Why is that? because, to ascertain that you to acquire something from Limewire, this technique itself nonetheless should be able to save that acquire someplace. meaning it has write rights on your folder/power of selection for downloads. which signifies that, too, is weak. you're taking a threat with P2P; that is only a question of even if you're keen to settle for that threat to acquire regardless of you're searching to acquire illegally.

I dont think it steals your document. Theres a protection that comes along with that program. Otherwise everyone will be complaining and sue the program master. Why do you suspect your document has been downloaded into stranger's pc? Unless you have accidently shared it. Check your options menu and make sure your not sharing that directory, or otherwise you're in trouble.

They will only upload what you have in the Limewire shared folder. You will have to see what are you sharing. Just go to your lime wire page and see the shared folder that appears on your upper left and you will see what you are sharing.

No... by default... it will only send back what you have downloaded.
But you can configure it in the settings... by specifying which folder it can up-load from. And you can forbid it all together to up-load anything.
