You have to maintain a balance, you don't want to make prayer a ritual where you just pray because you "are supposed to" or out of tradition. Nor do you want to get into the mentality that, "I dont HAVE to pray daily so I'll pray every other day" and then you start praying every other week, then every other decade. 1st Thessalonians, though, says "pray continually" (5:17).

You should pray daily but try not to make it a ritual, and I know that doesn't make much sense but the point is that prayer should never be a dull, emotionless, distant state, it should be personal, emotional, and beneficial.

Prayer is a form of communication with God. There are different levels of prayer, but most essentially it is a conversation. For a beginner, it is likely that the conversation is based on small inspiration and the need to converse via the script of memorized prayer or quotations from scripture.
If a person truly wishes a relationship with God, the depth of the experience moves into Contemplation. But this requires a true depth of spiritual love and a deep sense of conviction about serving God with a true heart for this.
Also, beginners often pray for what they want, don't get it and give up. It is not possible to use God as the good fairy of your wishes. You must study what a real relationship is about, and you learn that prayer is conforming your will to His. This does not mean that a beginner should not go to God with true needs and hope that He will inspire them to make good choices in life. Because He will.

Only if you desire a personal and intimate relationship with a Almighty , Loving, and Powerful God. He desires that we do, He gave His Only Son so that the way was made that through The Blood of Jesus He sees us and so we are no longer at enmity with Him, but He has drawn us close to Himself so that we can pray continuously without ceasing prayers which touch The Heart of God.

Someone wrote above that they are just a poor sinner saved by grace. Well, maybe you think you are, but I AM NOT. I no longer am a poor sinner, I have died out to sin and put on Christ. A sinner is someone who goes around sinning, but through daily prayer, I am given strength not to sin. Not to say I'm perfect and make no mistakes, but our goal as a Christian is to be more and more like Christ, and He did not go around sinning, He knew no sin. If you want a relationship that enables you to walk in POWER, then daily prayer is a must. PEACE!!!

Are you a Christian? If you are then I'd say pray throughout the whole day. You can pray while doing all kinds of things, driving a car, washing clothes, watching TV, you name it. We don't always have to get down on our knees to pray, although that is important also. Prayer is talking with God, out loud or to yourself. In order to have a great relationship with God you really need a good prayer life.

Do you have a shower daily? I try and remember to pray at night and thank GOD for all my blessings and sins. Man some days I have many. But then I am so tired, mother of 4 and work and chores etc... So I pray often throughout the day... silly things like Thank you God for the sunshine and wind, I really needed it to get the washing done and for giving me the strength to get all my work done and still have time to play a game with me kids. Thank you God for keeping my kids occupied today as I need to get my paperwork done, and one I said today, thank you God for keeping us safe tonight as we had a late game of cricket (indoor) and on a Friday night I am always wary of some idiot to do something stupid from drink driving while I am driving my kids home. All went well today. I am blessed.
Pray and be thank you as much as you need, but try and pray each day, time place or what you are wearing doesn't matter.. so long as you are truly thankyou and truly asking for guidance GOD will listen.
lots of love and have a great day.

yes, but the prayer doesn't need to be long and fancy. some days i pray the rosary, while other days i say something short and sweet like "thank u for this wonderful day Jesus or thank u for getting me through this terrible day, God"

think of God as your closest confident. now would u go a day without speaking to the person u love the most in the world, so why wouldn't u want to speak to God everyday.

The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing.. it builds a relationship with God.
example: how well would a marriage or friendship be if you never spoke to the person?

Yes, we have to pray daily to the One True God as many times as we like and need. We need divine guidance and assistance; we like to express our thankfulness for His bestowals on us, on our loved ones, on all mankind.
The more we pray, His divine guidance will disclose to us many new things we didn't know, we didn't like, we didn't and couldn't imagine before.

yes,but I talk with Him all the time that is considered praying, worship praising He does not consider people as robots that should do things simply by routine and not thinking seriously about what we say ,the way we feel that truly comes from the heart and thats what He listens to.
