Why do some people prefer 2 be with someone just for the sakes of not being alone??

Because they're weak. Also, humans are creatures of habit, do something for long enough and it becomes habit. Most people are like that with relationships. Personally, I have never stayed with someone for the sake of it and never would and if more people thought that way, there'd be loads more singles out there! The majority of couples I know aren't happy together and just put up with each other for the sake of convenience.

As for lonliness, sometimes you can be much lonlier in a relationship than if you are on your own. Oh and p.s. Rebecca is talking crap, she's probably in one of those relationships you are talking about!

I live on my own and yes it can get lonely at times, but for me I have not found someone that i can trust. Some people just don't want to end up alone. it can be scary facing a life alone, so why not be with someone who can make a little difference to your life. Maybe put a smile on your face, to chat to on an evening or out for a night out. Yopu have to do whats right for you and what your are willing to accept from the world that we live in today.

Because some people don't mind putting up with second best and think that it's "sad" to be single. I'm single but I know if I wanted a boyfriend I'd only have to go out into town on any Saturday night and i could find one but I'm prepared to wait for the cream of the crop (I just don't know where he is!). I'd rather be single than be with someone I wasn't that into to...what's the point otherwise??

have you ever been alone? its boring and lonely. sometimes when i`m single i enjoy it. you can go wherever, eat whatever without having to put someone else into consideration and then the other part comes in where you can`t go to a certain place coz it`s mainly for couples, you don`t have anyone to call you last thing at night to say good nite, you don`t have anyone to cuddle up next to when its cold at nite. hell its lonely and depressing to even think of that is why some people would rather be unhappy in a relationship than be unhappy be themselves.

I live on my own..
I was going to say live alone...but thats different.
I got friends I can see and speak to if I like.
The winter nights are the worst, too cold and dark to go out and about.
I don't think I would want to be 'with' someone just for the sake of it.
Apart from the fact that I talk to myself a lot..I find it ok.

becaus ewe live in a society where we are conatantly bombarded with images of couples. We are told we need to dress a certain way, look a certain way, buy a certain conditioner, and we too will attract a good mate. So most people think that to be accepted they must be in a couple.

i take it from this question and some of the answers you've given to other questions, that you don't have much life experience!
my advice to you is to go outside, socialise and take in what other people are doing, how other people's lives are going, what other people think and how the world works - you could even do this on the internet but you have to listen to other people's points of view, and appreciate that life isn't always easy.
you have a lot to learn!

Because they are desperate. They don't like being by themselves and think that they have to have another just to make them whole. I find it disturbing. My friend is like that. She settled for a live with mommy, no job, no car, jerk. Oh, how it made her feel wanted. Until he used and abused her. Being alone is not that bad and I would not settle for just "anyone". I have more respect for myself than that.

iv just had something similiar happen to me. Best to just leave it.Some people do it to make themselves look good.Women are the worst at doing this.
