I heard that after 10 years our whole body is different as existing cells, particularly the skin layers die off and are replaced by new ones. I'm curious to know why the ink does'nt get expelled along with it! Anyone know why/how ?

The ink goes deeper than the skin cells, it goes into the layer beneath them, so shedding skin cells does not affect the tattoo;

The first layer of skin is renewed yes. But the ink is set by a nedle in several layers of skin. Therefore, the tatoo will fade.

Ink in a tattoo is below the top layer of skin that sloughs off. So it stays below and the skin above it dies and is replaced.

The ink lies just below the layers of skin, between the skin and fat cells.
