What makes people think that Christianity is a TOLERANT religion? We are supposed to be loving and steadfast, but no where in the bible does it say to be "tolerant" of sin, other religions, opinions or anything else for that matter that goes against the word of God. In the bible it specifically lays out what will happen to sinners, but somehow some Christians are mislead to think we should be "tolerant" of sin? In the bible it says that God is not a respector of people. Sin does include but is not limited too wrong ideas, wrong thinking, gay marriage, preaching false doctrines, adopting false doctrines, worshipping false gods, disobeying God, breaking the law, slander, gossip, lying, hate, and all other forms of wickedness. Your idea of "tolerance" is that we should just sit by and ignore these things and let them go on around us when the bible demands that we be separate from them? What makes you think we should be "tolerant" of all this then?

No where in this post did I say anything about being ignorant or rude to people. Those who choose to make rude comments because I won't see it from your point of view, are barking up the wrong tree. I am merely speaking the truth about my own religion. I am in no way being rude or mean to anyone I am merely stating what it clearly outlines in the bible.

Very good, Jenna! The irony here is that the world wants Christians to be tolerant, but they don't want to tolerate us?

Hmm. But I can think of a number of instances in the gospels that would make me think that Jesus preached tolerance. Hanging out with social outcasts (tax collector), making a Samaritan the hero of a story when everyone knew that Samaritans were no good. Making a tax collector the hero of a story about prayer. Keeping a sinner from being stoned to death... I don't know. I would have said that Christianity had lessons to teach about tolerance.
Is there a line between making these decisions on how to live for yourself and dictating to others?

Christians love the sinner but hate the sin. We should follow the example of Jesus who asked His Father to forgive those who crucified Him for they knew not what they did. Sinners sin out of ignorance and hard-heartedness. Christians should see the spiritual dimension behind the sins committed by others and deal with the issue by the most effective way through prayers. Our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against the forces of evil. God loves the sinner to win him over. We should do likewise. God bless you.

A child asked, "Father, how shall we know what is right, and
what is wrong?"
And He replied, "Weigh it by it's fruits. If it gives a bad
fruit, then it is wrong, but if the fruit is good, then eat of it and be
happy."
"But Brother, what of a fruit that seems to be good, yet will
poison us slowly?" asked another.
And He answered, "If a man die of it, then it is an evil fruit.
Look you to the past, see the mistakes therein, and learn therefrom. And
beware those who would lead you into error thru their own need of power
over you; leave them to the trap of their own making."
One of the Priests came to Him, a man enmeshed in legalism, and,
thinking to trap Him said, "Teacher, What is the Law?"
And He looked at the Priest and said, "Love God. Love thy
neighbor. All else is commentary, and the Law of Man. Study the holy
books of all faiths, weigh the good and the bad in each, and learn."
And the Priest went away abashed.
And a person came to Him and said, "What of magic?"
"Know that your will is that of a human, and you are not
omniscient. You cannot see all the results of your actions. Therefore
ask 'Not my will, but Thine be done' and leave the ordering of the
MultiVerse to Deity, not to human will," He replied. "Order yourself,
not the MultiVerse."
And two came to Him, and asked, "O Mahatma, We are of the same
sex, and love each other. What shall we do?"
And He looked upon them, and said, "An it harm none, do as you
will. You are all the Children of the Deity, and the Deities' Love for
you is greater than you can imagine."
A policeman asked of Him, "But what of the Laws of Man? If these
Laws of Man conflict with the Law of the Diety, what shall we do then,
Padre?"
And Transformer answered, "Listen and hear. Obey the Laws of
Man, for these Laws have power over your body. But if there is a
man-made law that is not good, then strive to change it, in peace. But
if you cannot change it, then obey it. And, if you must disobey it to
change it, then accept the judgements of Man's Law in good grace until
it is changed. But put not your trust in Rulers, and Kings and Princes,
nor in those that would lead you, be they Priest, Priestess, or any 45

other Office and Position, but weigh their words carefully, that their
words match their deeds, and no hypocrisy enters into them, for as your
leaders you have given them power over you. And always remember that
Man's Law is made for humanity, and not humanity for Man's Law."

You know what? you are right, and although we are imperfect people, we must try to atleast do the will of God. Insomuch that we do what's best in God's interest no our own, but usually one should be lead by the spirit of the Lord almighty and when one follow the Lords commanments and one tries to reach that extreme to where the Lord would like for one to be, he pours his Holy spirit on one and you continue life that way until the end of time. That time however, Only the Lord will grant that to one.
God bless you my sister in Christ

You are correct. Christians do need to be involved in politics and other ways to change things. But we do need to obey the laws of man, unless it contradicts God's laws. So we shouldn't go out and kill unbelievers, and torch their places of work, etc.. But the most powerful weapons are living the Christian life for all to see, and of course prayer. If all of the Christians would seek God and pray He would heal our land. He is only asking that His people do this.

WE are NOT to be tolerent of any thing that is wrong or a sin. We can not save them, But we don't have to go along with them either, that is why many times some religous people thinks I am silly. I have to stand for TRUTH.

In the Bible, it says do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It also says judge not lest you be judged. It says love one another as I (the Christ) have loved you. So where do you get the "no tolerance" idea?

I never thought it was. You follow a tyrannical god that kills on the slightest whim, so it would follow that you would pick up that behavior.
