It's for a part of the story I'm working on. Have to know if my characters would risk getting caught by police for drinking and curfews and stuff. ^^

the legal age do drink (and drive) is 18, but minors can buy alcohol and cigarettes almost anywhere without being asked their ages.

the age for buying guns is 21

18, but the liquor think is forbitten just on paper. It is tolerated by society do drink liquor beeing 14, and you never go to prison because of that. It's forbitten only on paper.

its 18 years,but no one really cares,you have to watch it in the
tourist areas, they praying on tourists to make them pay fines or worse,copacabana par example, watch out for girls,even if they look well over 18, ask to see id, sometimes working in cohorts with corrupt police/or segurity officers.
there are more funny things in brasil,the only place where they have separated garbage cans,in by the statue of christo in rio
to impress the tourists,the rest of brasil,still have to do it in watever way. (its slowly inproving a bit)

but im half brasilian and i can tell you, theres underage drinking and thats the least of the cops worries ..
too much corruption there and too much theft/assault etc going on
