In Chinatown:
Lido (Gerrard Street) is quite smart and the food is very good. Not expensive - average price. Nice to take your parent's or date to I think.
Wong Kei's (Wardour Street) - cafe like, huge place: lots of Chinese people go to it themselves (always a very good sign). The food is cheap, plentiful but pretty good quality - just don't expect tablecloths or charm (you may even have to share a table) - just good honest Chinese food at good prices. I've been going there for 10 years. Great for groups who want to eat but not spend a fortune before the big night out, or for informal eating out.

truly than a buffet, have you ever seen dim sum? i ought to distinctly recommend the hot international in simple terms off Shaftesbury highway, in Gerrard position. that is on a number of flooring, and the foodstuff comes round on trolleys, so that you'll elect what you want once you want. i have been there a large number of situations, and each and anytime is a blast. Dim Sum is diverse sufficient that that is not stumbled on commonly on your classic chinese language eating position / take-away, so nicely worth a try for something diverse. that is type of like a chinese language tapas! Oh, and on account that it includes a large number of little dishes, the bill shouldn't have a tendency to be extortionate, both, that is continuously a blessing.

I'll second Wong Kei. It really is a great restaurant. You get a free pot of jasmine tea with your meal and if you want more just open the lid and leave it and they'll replace it.
