hi, first of all families are in conflict because they keep secrets from one another which then to come out at some point in time.
Also some persons in a family are jealous of one another because of the other one success or ability. In some family, the conflicts comes from way back to the parents or even the grandparents. I think to maintain mental health you should not limit contact with family, but try to show them that it doesn't matter how hard they try they will never be able to upset you or hurt your feelings. There is a saying that friends come and go, but family is always there whether they help you or not. do try to deal with them. bye.

Don't know, my family circle is great. We all get together once a month to celebrate someones birthday usually, then go our separate ways until the next time. We don't argue, don't fall out and do give each other credit for making decisions - even when we don't agree with them.
Oldest member is 87 and youngest is 16. I can't believe how some families are.

This is a good question and one I wonder about quite often. My husband's family is always in a stage of dramatics - it's like every 6 months they pick someone new to be mad at and ignore. I find them all very immature and am glad when they don't talk to us. I much prefer it that way!!!

Those they cause the trouble are people who do not have anything better to do in their lives. Or due to some of their "interest" it suits them to create conflicts between the family in order to serve their own cause eg. (earn the love of the father or mother, or earn money)

It doesn't have to be that way. People just need to be able to communicate and be honest with each other. Love is most important in families, and that means no matter what. When families feel unconditional love they also feel comfortable with eachother.

Good question, we've got family conflicts on both sides. Perhaps it comes from a bunch of people who literally can't choose their relatives and are stuck with people they can't stand.

Sometimes a family member will do you dirty before a friend will. They have no one to blame but themselves if you choose to limit the contact.
