Well, you had better hope that you don't drop the camera while you are on the last day of your holiday...because it will smash into several pieces...but you will breathe a sigh of relief when the memory card (which has your entire holiday photos on it) survives being expelled from the camera...but then you watch in horror as it is crushed when it is run over by a big truck...and you lose all of your precious photos.
Would love to see you try and return it then ;-)

You COULD, but you would likely need to have a valid reason. I'll leave the moral dilemma up to you. It also depends where you are. I found returning things in the UK was a hell of a lot easier than it is here in Canada. Much better statutory rights for shoppers.
But there is an exception: If you are in N America. Costco are a push over for returns. They pretty much take anything back for any reason.

It might work if the camera is in pristine condition with all stickers, tags and LCD cover still attached and all items including the box still present and wrapped. Depends on the store also, and they might offer you a store credit rather than just taking the camera back - just depends on the store.
Should you do it? No. Would I do it? No. And I would be pretty peeved if I invested my good money in a new camera and got one somebody took on a quick vacation and then returned it because they are cheap...

around where I'm from, you have to do it in 30 days, and they check if you opened the box. If you did, then they charge you a 15% restock fee. But they'll take it back.

If you could sleep with yourself after this, you could probably get away with it. Just make sure to reset the image counter before you try, though.

Yes, go to Argus as they have a 16day money back guarantee, so buy just before your holiday and take back after, so long as it is not damaged.
