It sounds as if YOU are stressed-out by the changes, and whether anyone else would be or not doesn't deal with the issue of your own stress. You don't say whether you have shared that you don't like doing this duty with your supervisor, but it doesn't sound as if you have. Have you? If you haven't, the resentment that you feel towards him/her for changing your duty undoubtedly makes your experience even more stressful. Your own feelings, since you haven't shared them and processed them with your supervisor are making your experience of your job even more difficult. Talk to your supervisor! Let him/her know how you feel about doing this duty. You don't have to do it in a confrontive way or a way that will get you in trouble at work, but you do have to be assertive about what's going on for you.
Speak with your supervisor and ask to be relieved of this additional burden of work, which you clearly do not like. If you open up communication about your duties, you may find that you have more options about what you do than you thought. And even if you don't, you will have let the boss know how you feel and that is certain to alleviate a great deal of stress for you.

PS--yes, I probably would feel enormously stressed-out behind my boss changing my duties without asking me, resulting in a lot of additional driving! But I would let my boss know how I feel about taking on these extra duties that require so much moving from place to place.

Good luck with it!

Yes, your boss is entitled to move his staff around as is necessary - unless of course you've got it in your contract that you only do those duties you normally do. However, most contracts will have a clause "...and any other duties required" or somehting similar.

Yes, other people do get stressed out when they have to do something unfamiliar and that thye are not happpy with.

Have you discussed this with your boss and explained that you find the changes so stressful? It might be worth a try - communication is always important. I hope you've got a boss that will listen to his/her staff, after all it is in the company's best interest to have the staff doing what they are best at and not stressed out.

hope you can get this sorted out as you clearly cannot go on like this.

Check out your contract and/or terms and conditions of employment. Try a one-to-one consultation with your boss.

Unless you are contracted for set hours in a set job, your boss is within his rights to put you where he needs you;

Don't worry too much, I'm sure you've got someone who is there for you when things get stressful.
