is there anyway to get the old xp to open and run or tansfer programs ect to new partition. Things like wifi/modem connections not working. i really hate computers. and they now it and get even with me!!

you cannot access the programs on the other partition because they haven't been installed and incorporated into the registry of the current windows you're running.

Any program you want to run after reloading xp will need to be installed in the new xp.

no need to use multiple partitions unless you need to save data from the old config. (not programs, they won't work anyway) but data. If you just want to get things running again you'll need to reinstall your device drivers and whichever programs you'd like to run.
If you'd really like to clean things up then do a quick burn of any data you'd like to keep and delete the partition and reformat the drive. Then go ahead and load windows & your programs

Two thing can be tried by you. One thing is putting the installation cd and trying to use the repair option to repair the windows. If this is not possible search in the net because I remember some third party software that could lift programs from one operating system to another but here again I presume that both the operating systems should be working .
