i took the left one out, went to take the other one out and couldn't get it. i don't think it's still in (might have come out without me noticing somehow) but i'm not sure.

You should be able to feel it in your eye. But if you aren't sure, wash your eye out with water, your contact will swell up and wash away. If you're still not sure it's out, fill the bath, lay in it and submerse your head, hold your eyelids open and let the water wash around your eye. It will definitely come out.
If you are still unsure go see your optometrist who will have a close look and see if there's anything wrong and remove anything that's there.

It is possible that it can be under the eyelid. I have had this happen to me, luckily I was wearing a colored one. I had no idea where it had gone. And I knew I didn't take it out, so I lifted up the eye lid rolled my eye around and there it was stuck way up there. I couldn't even feel it there.

Can you see out of the eye That you think you have lost it from?? If you can then the Len's is still in your eye.

Can you see out of the questionable one? Check under your eyelids (use some saline)

You should notice because without them your vision might be fuzzy (that is if you have a weak eyesight).

use eye drop and if the contact covers your pupil, you will tell because your sight will clear with contact.
