You can apply for your passport at your local US Post Office, I would suggest though that you print out the forms prior to going, you can get those at the USPS website http://www.usps.com/

In Canada go to a post office to get the application. Then you can drop it off at a post office or take it to one of 33 passport offices located throughout the country once you have completed the application.

Your local post office or federal mail service can do that for you in most countries, as can many public locations of international travel. Considering the time involved, I'd go with the mail service.

you apply to the passport division of your federal govt, if you are in the usa, just go to your locale post office.

you can download and print off all the applications/instructions from government websites. I think the state dept, but do a search. its something.gov. Then you need photos, and stuff, but try online to dowload all the forms
