On the bottle it says bottled in Scotland, but all of the writing is in Thai and it is clearly made for the Thai market. I am convinced it is sweeter and not as good. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Help!!

"bottled in Scotland" is not the same as "made in Scotland."

Just as Coca-Cola modifies its formula to suit local tastes (Coke is sweeter in Latin America for example), it would not be surprising if Chivas localizes its formulas as well. The only way to know for sure though, is to contact the bottler directly.

Alcohol producers the world over will bottle their product for specific markets. That includes producing labels in different languages so that consumers can understand it. Any genuine Chivas anywhere in the world will be produced and bottled in Scotland. That does NOT mean however that you have purchased a real bottle. If you are still unsure get in contact with the makers. This is their website:

Chivas' parent company is Pernod-Ricard based in France. Try their website to find out specific information for your country, they may be able to help as well.
