This is one of the principles of Buddhism. I think there is a lot to be said for detatchment. I also think its very difficult to achieve. I wish I could get to that point. Here in America we are driven by consumerism, politics and the media. I try to let it all just go by, but sometimes its tough. Thanks for sharing this quote. I hope the people reading it will ponder it for awhile. Peace to you!

Good One!!!
But the next thing to think about is "What after peace?" If I'm not there and I have no desires then what will I do with that peace?
This kind of peace will be temporary and dry. The real fun is in identifying our actual position as an eternal servant of God and find peace by acting in a way that pleases the God.

Sounds nice in theory.
However, in the real world too many people's ego are out to kill.
So you can have peace in your heart but you better be able to defend yourself or you will have enternal peace.

Dear friend,
Unless God gives nobody can receive PEACE, no matter whether you remove "I (ego)", "want (desire)" or anything else.

Wrong, If I want (desire) supper, & if I skip supper, that won't give me peace.
