Dandruff will not be affected by the hot irons, but it may be more visible if your hair is dry. A permanent straightening will most likely make your hair more dry. I find that many people who use CERAMIC hair irons end up better off than those with permanent straightenings.

Permanent straightening will cause a decent amount of damage but not an excessive or irrepairable amount. 1 make sure it is done by a professional and 2 use a leave in conditioner and hot oil treatments to help repair your hair folicle. As long as you don't dye your hair soon afterward you'll be fine. Also it best to leave your hair away from hot iron products for 2 weeks or so.

too much heat damage the hair. In salons , a magic perm or in other countries it is called rebonding which makes hair straight for a few months. Afterwards a hot oil treatment or a special hair treatment is done to prevent damage to the hair.
