but you have been together for nearly 8 years & in that time it has improved slowly, is it ok to keep going? My partner & I love each other & don't want to give up. We have stuck with the relationship through some very, very awful, trying times & slowly moving into something more positive. It's very slow though. What do you all think.

If you are both still working together be proud of your efforts and celebrate.
P.S. Even the best of relationships have their trying times; it's how you work through the trying times that forges the bond.

It depends how bad is it. A relationship can be bad on many different matters. Such as an aggressive b/f or g/f, cheating in the relationship, parents of his/hers etc... These are some things that can make a relationship a bad one.

In your case you didn't give us a good explanation so that we can help you but let me tell you this, if there is careness, honesty, respect and love, the relationship is strong and must never be stopped but if there's a slight doubt of cheating and the opposite things of the above mentioned, then the relationship has to be stopped because it's a weak one and will break up after a while.

Eish!Thats a hard one cause clearly you want more than you are getting! But also letting go to 8 years of your life together is really hard!Basically, you need to put your own needs first and decide what you really want.Do you even really really see you and him in the future together?Do you want to marry this guy oneday?Do you still even love him or are you guys just holding on to what you had?Is it love or the idea of love?If you anwer no to most of these questions, then you know what to do!

If you are happy with your decision and are happy going through this then good for you two and all the best. No one can tell you what to do and it doesn't matter what the world things. Life throws a lot at us and if you've been together for so long and don't want to leave...then why leave?

i AM NOT SURE BECAUSE IN MY OPINION,,,I don't think love is something that you have to work on,,,,it is just an un-explainable understanding,,,,and ,,,,it doesn' cause hurt and pain,,,,to me ,,,, real love does not hurt like others say,,,,because why would you truly hurt the person you love,,,,why would you want to make them un-happy or cry,,,,,that is not love to me,,,,and to me in life we tend to want something soo very much that we loose sight of what it is we were searching for and we settle,,,,we take what we can get because it is easier and more comfortable to stay where we are than to start completely over,,,,and in doing that ,,,,we waist alot of time and alot of our inner soul and spirit trying to do things to make someone happy when clearly,,,,we have forgotton to make ourselves happy,,,,we focus all of our attention on no stress,,no fighting,,,talking,,,,not arguing,,,,touching,,,,trying to get that flame back,,,,,doing the date thing,,,,doing the alone time thing,,,,the time apart thing,,,,the i think we need to end thing,,,,and yet we always end up back in the same situation,,,and is it love????or is it something,,,,that something that inside of us that we are searching for,,,,that makes us go back because,,,we think we could possobly have it with this person,,,,even though after 8 years,,,,we still have not found it?????I believe when you love someone,,,,you don't have to search,,,,you don't have to try to love someone,,,and make something work,,,,if you spend all your life trying to make a relationship work,,,,,hwo much time do you really have to love????to just love each other??????NOT VERY MUCH BECAUSE YOU BOTH ARE TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN,,,A RELAVATION OF LIFE AND LOVE FOUND,,,ONCE AGAIN,,,,AFTER 8 LONG YEARS,,,,,AND IN THAT 8 YEARS,,,,YOU BOTH HAVE CHANGED,,,,YOU HAVE CHANGED APART AND NOT TOGETHER,,,,YOU ARE NO LONGER ONE AS A WHOLE,,,,AND WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT YOU BOTH IN YOUR HEARTS KNOW WHAT YOU WANT,,,AND YOU ARE TRYING SO HARD TO ACHIEVE THAT,,,,BUT YOU ARE EXPECTING IT FROM ONE ANOTHER,,,AND I PERSONALLY DON'T THINK EITHER OF YOU HAVE IT TO GIVE TO ONE ANOTHER,,,,I THINK YOU CARE FOR ONE ANOHTER,,,,BUT THE FEELING YOU ONCE HAD,,,,,THAT YOU FELT UNCONDITIONALY,,,,,ISN'T THE SAME,,,,,OR you wouldn't have to try so hard to make love work,,,,,it would just come to you like it did in the beginning,,,,,and it would be so natural,,,and now it is a constant battle or struggle to bring something back,,,,,but what are you really bringing back???Love,,,,or that something inside of you both that you are looking for???????

I am in no way trying to dis-regard your feelings and struggles you have had,,,,but just merely giving you both my opinion,,,,and maybe It will make sense and maybe not,,,,,but I do wish you both luck in what ever you both decide to do,,,,,,,,,I just don't think love,,,,real love,,,,,takes all you have inside as a person,,,,,

good luck,,,,and i hope i helped a little,,,,
