Does anyone know of anyone who has undergone a hydrocephalus operation?

Last October my four year old son was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and was operated on. Now he has a shunt for life.

My son was born with hydrecephalous(water on the brain) in 1973. He has his frist shunt put in when he was 2 mos, and it did not work properly, so he had the 2nd shunt put at 2 1/2 mos. old, and has that shunt for 34 years! He has had no problems with that shunt. Usually the shunt does not last that long, before it has to be replaced. He gets it checked a couple of times a year. A couple of sign its not working is severe headaches and vomiting. He has had none of these.
