Hi
I have a photograph of HMHS El Nil - my great aunt was a member of the British Red Cross and travelled on the ship between March 18th - 28th 1945. She was travelling from the UK to Italy to serve with the British Red Cross repatriating Displaced Persons and refugees. The ship was affectionately called "The Packet Bottle Ship" - rather than the Pocket Battle Ship, a reference to the alcohol they consumed en voyage! The photograph is signed by all those travelling with her.
