Only IF there is absolute proof that they are the guilty party. There really are a few innocent people in prisons. Most are not however. I would like to see those who have been rightly accused go straight to death row where they only get a few weeks instead of several years to sit and await their fate. Why should the rest of us who obey the laws pay for the life sentence of those who have not. If they get the death penalty they should be put to death in a timely manner. I don't get to continue college or have agym to work out in and I'm a good citizen. Perhaps I could get my B.A. degree by murdering some child's father or mother or so mothers child. Our system seems to be a bit backwards. Where are the voices of those who've had a heinous crime committed against them?

Because we have not properly defined MURDER and RAPE

Yes, I get the premise of your question, but as it stands today murder and rape covers a pretty big spectrum and includes many people that shouldn't be put to death.

For example, your 18 year old brother has a 16 year old girlfriend, childhood sweethearts and together for 4 years. Her parents never liked him for some reason, they catch them having sex, the parents report it to police along with pictures and pursue prosecution with a vengance, the state convicts your brother of statutory RAPE and is now a rapist with a felony conviction. Kill him? You said "all the criminals"

A man breaks into your home with your children there, you grab a gun and fire, in the heat of the moment and in fear for your life you chase him outside and shoot him dead in the street in the back. You could VERY WELL be convicted of murder even though the circumstances warranted your action. All the witnesses said "he was trying to get away" Should we kill you?

I agree with you, I'd like to see many of them take a permanent nap, but I don't want anyone executed simply because of a murder or rape conviction, that's just too broad brush for me and the circumstances can often be very questionable.

It puts those legally killing on the same level as those who illegally kill.
You're looking for revenge, there is no other excuse to kill especially when it has been proven that there have been far too many put to death that were later exonerated, not including those who have lately been proven by DNA evidence to be not guilty of the crime for which they were charged and sentenced to die.
Capital punishment is using the disease to treat the disease.
It does NOT deter future murders and it far too often causes the death of the not guilty. It costs more to execute a prisoner than jail them for life.
Live without the possibility of parole is a better and cheaper option.
This is not to go into the fact that representation (lawyers) are often incompentent and the criminal justice system is full of flaws and injustice to begin with.

Wanting to kill others for killing makes you into them. Congratulations.

Some criminals might turn out to be innocent after being hanged...So thats a reason...Another reason is : Criminals should not be killed cos whatever they do ( Except for killing ) Can be trialed with another means than just prison as washing clothes for 20 years and..........

There is no good reason. They are eating up taxpayer money, being coddled by the so called justice system. Criminals have rights, victims don't. The victims get no justice. You see what happens when they are let loose, they do the same again, or even worse. The only good criminal is a dead criminal.. Thanks for asking the question.

I can't give you a good reason but why stop at murderers and rapists? Any violent criminal should be eliminated from the gene pool as soon as possible. If not executed, sterilized so they can not reproduce. Criminals breed criminals.

because no one will be left
also, if you play it harsh like that with hard rules, ppl will become smarter and do crime smarter

continuity as well, if you kill anyone, someone else will have to kill you by the same law, and someone else will have to kill that person and so on

death is not that much of a hard punishment, imprisoning people is usually much better (depending on the circumstances)

First, can you proove with out a doubt all are guilty? Innocent people are frequently imprisoned and some sent to death row.
Secondly, I think the Taliban tried this in Afghanistan.

Lets see...its inhumane...no thats no it....they can rehabilitated....no thats not it either....living their lives in a jail cell is worse punishment....no thats not it either. Oh wait....there is no good reason for not executing convicted criminals such as murders, rapists and terrorists. I fully believe in the death penalty and my only complaint about it is does not move fast enough.
