I need braces for the bottom row of teeth only, and will probably go for the old train-track ones as I guess they are cheapest.

Everywhere is different on pricing. I'm currently paying for a full mouth of them for my son (Only 3 payments left!!!)
I would go for an evaluation at an orthodontist, there is a chance you wont need braces, they might be able to use a retainer type thing.

I just signed the contract for both top & bottom and the price includes my retainer afterwards. It was $4500
