Each pregnancy is different. You really don't need to worry about the baby's position yet. My son didn't turn. He was by by C-section.

I wouldn't worry about going into labor in the next week or so. Babies move all over the place at this stage. I am 24 weeks and my baby is this way and that way. She is never in the same position for very long. I has an ultrasound last week and asked the sonographer if babies at this age are head down or if their head is still up and she told me that it all depends . They can be either way right now. Once they get bigger there is less room and they stay in the same position for the most part. So try not to worry so much and just let the baby do his/her thing and you'll be fine.

Babies tend to roll and flip -- they can even turn their position in the last weeks of pregnancy. I don't think it's a very good indicator of how close you are to giving birth. Normal pregnancies are 40 weeks. Your doctor should have seen other signs (in your cervix, for example) if you were close to giving birth. Don't worry about it.

I do remember that my baby didn't flip over "on schedule." My doctor got ahead of himself, and told me all these yoga positions I could do to encourage the baby "if it doesn't go head-down by your next visit." All that worry for nothing! The baby was head-down by the next visit!!!

Listen to what the doctor says, and write it down in a notebook. It's easy to forget what s/he says when you are there. A good doctor will also look at what you are writing, and correct any misconceptions right then and there.

(-: And don't worry! If you were going to give birth in the next few weeks, I think the doctor wouldn't have let you out of the hospital!

No, don't worry. They float around quite a bit until they get too big to do so. If you're concerned, ask your doctor.
