when someone kind of like forces you into their religion..and what if that certain someone is your teacher? This is what happened to me :
i have this teacher who is a christian(no offence meant to christians) and she is extremely passionate abt her religion...ours is a class with almost equal no.of hindus, muslims and christians...one day in class the story of king midas came up in class and there was a line that went,'and God pleased with him, told him..', when the teacher started asking questions like "does God talk" and stuff...The puzzled class obviously didn't respond and eventually the questions became statements and finally she started mocking the hindus and their Gods....after that incident she was back to her grouchy self..until one day there was this paragrafh abt fashion when she started making fun of the muslim women and the way they dress...all these took place a couple of months ago and although most of the class were highly offended,we decided to give her another chance

but then again, yesterday during our lesson(which was abt festivals) we were reading abt christmas, when suddenly she told that christmas had become extremely materialistic..and then she asked us abt the importance of christmas to wwhich we unanimously replied, "the birth of Christ"..and then she went about how Christ is the saviour of the whole of mankind and how those who reject him will have no afterlife...she almost started screaming at us, almost forcing us to accept Christ as our saviour, telling things like "is it so difficult to accept the truth"....she went on and on and even started criticizng buddhists saying, " they're worshippiing a human..who is Buddha's father's God" and stuff like that..she called pujas and pilgrimages 'silly nonsenses' etc..i feel that she has gone way over the limit....i mean to think that even though shes 50+,the ninth graders she's teaching is much more mature than she is...don't star abt freedom of expression being a human right...co i feel that res

respect for each other's beliefs is a human duty...i donno if i must complain abt her cos i'm highly intimidated by her.so if she finds out i complained i'd be dead..and if she's sacked it will also be a loss for us bcos she is the only good one(more like the best among the worst)....and i'd like to once again say that i don't mean any offence at all to any religions and if you feel offended, my apologies......btw i live in the uae...

I would definitely make it clear to your teacher that her comments are offensive and will not be tolerated. if she continues to mock other religions and cultures it is a form of discrimination at most and harassment at least both of which have no place in the class room turn her in to the school administration. as far as her forcing you into her religion I don't think that is possible. Either you believe the way she does or you don't.

Well I am a Christian...and in no way, would I have acted like she did.
She like many other Christians know the truth...and are scared for others, who do not.
So hence her reaction...many know that time is running out...for this poor old world. They get carried away...Forgive her...she must be very worried...about things.
Plus, I will tell you that some Christians know more than others...and because of that...they do panic!
They worrie for all human kind.In the process, they can get a little bit over the top.She is correct...as far as some things she says...but! not how she says them...Its people like this, who give the rest of us, a bad name....
I would say just try and tell her, maybe she is hurting others feelings...she may wake up to that! She has not forced you into her religion, unless you are made to go to church...and you go.
That's her opinion...she is using...and, you have just felt it overwhelming....

Well, look u dnt have to be convinced of everyword she is sayin.U could only listen, and then forget. U dnt have to beleive every word. However,if there is somethin u r really interested abt or intrigued u, u could always look it up on the internet or ask it on the yahoo answers, just dnt depend on her words only.About the fact that she is tryin to make u be christians like her, well,no body can be forced in any religion in the world. Everybody has the right to practise the religion one wants.U could also tell her like as a class, politley of course, that u prefer not to talk alot abt religion.this way no body will be offended.

This is a silly question, the woman obviously has no respect for anyone's beliefs other than her own. (If what you say is true) What you take for mockery however possibly isn't mockery, considering that half the world these days has a chip on their shoulder about their own religion. As soon as another religion is brought up or discussed, or theology questions are brought up they take it as mockery. In the bible true Christians are not this way toward other religions. However, do NOT confuse respect with tolerance. We respect that it is someone's personal choice to believe what they want, we dot not respect your religion. It's not right for a Christian to argue theology or deface another religion with slander or otherwise. It's only our job to inform others of what we know.

I don't know where you go to school at, but in America this is against the law. She has no right to down any religion like that. She is there to teach school. There is a time and a place to voice your opinion if you dislike a religion for a certain reason, but not when you have a class full of students. Report it to whoever is in charge. I too am a Christian, but I would not take my opinions of religion to work with me. That what we have this website for.

Nobody can impose ones religion on others. It is against fundmental rights as well as against human wisdom.People create millions of gods and goddesses.Others boast of their god.It is most ridiculous thing in the world.Religion and gods are the creation of man and he goes on creating gods..every tree..every stone..including snakes and monkeys are worshipped. In some states even film stars and poilticians are being worshipped. There are also self made gurus.. where is the end???

You have many Christians Zealous, I am not aware what country you are from, But I am a USA citizen, Back when I was in school, we were allowed to carry our bibles, But not anymore, That was back in the 1950's & 1960's If it don't offend you, say nothing, If others get offended, let them tell the teacher.

You should tell your parents, and they should discuss the matter the administeration of your school,or you can write a complaint with your clleagues and sign on it and write your class and deliver it to a high authority in your school.
Don’t be afraid, she won’t dare to harm you,may be you will be no more of her favourite students, but also she doesn’t deserve to be your favourite teacher, coz if she is so intolerant to believe in the freedom of belief, then she should keep her opinion and beliefs to herself, and don’t force anybody to convert to her religion out of fear.

Many are "forced" into a religion. Just being born means that you will probably be pushed to the belief system of those around you. No one can force you to believe and belief is what is important.
