My Jago is 2 and a half years old. From day one he was a very picky eater. But we managed somehow and he was growing nicely and gaining weight. Now the things are completely different. He became very skinny.
We tried offering him every kind of food there is - wet and dry from every single producer (he takes just few bites of Hill's), nibbletts, cat milk... Now we even have to beg him to eat fresh meat!
We ran tests at vet and all the results came out fine. No problem what so ever! The vet said "sometimes they are just skinny!". Somehow I can't make myself believe this one. Has anyone ever had such a problem? Please help!

Get some Nutra Cal (vitamins in a tube) to give to him daily. Warm up his can food and try adding some chicken baby food. Try soaking the dry in some milk. Some cats are just skinnier than the others and if the cat is acting normal then you shouldn't worry about it.

Find something he seems to like best of all the foods you've tried and stick with that. My experience is that cats like a routine and it sometimes causes problems when you switch their food around. Keep in mind that if the litter box is dirty, then he's getting enough to eat. Some cats are built slimmer than others, they're all different. If the vet says he's healthy, try not to stress too much about it. You don't say whether he's neutered or not, that will usually cause them to gain some weight, and then you may have to put him on a diet! Good luck to you.

Have you tried feeding him kitten food? It has more fat and protien in it so it should help add mass. Get a good brand, not a grocery store brand. Get some NUTRO, TECNI-CAL, ROYAL CANIN. Go to the pet store and ask them for samples. They usually have a bunch in the back if they don't have a diplay. This way you can findout what brands he likes.

it's worth a shot if you havn't tried it yet

what about live food? get a young mouse and either put him ouside or in a well enclosed area ( you dont want it loose in the house) you never know

I warm my cats wet food up, then I sprinkle tuna flakes on it. I found it at Petco and they love it. It's in a little plastic tub

anorexia... maybe the cat is not happy. maybe you should play with your cat... or make a desperate call to Dr. Phil.
