i videoed a wedding on a camcorder, then hooked it up to my dvd recorder to put it onto dvd. it plays fine in the recorder but is not recognised in any other player. any ideas anyone!?

Perhaps the DVD needs to be FINALIZED. This steps makes the DVD more standard for other units to read. Also it may be that you made a DVD+R disc and that isn't as compatible as DVD-R. If the Sony burner makes DVD-R choose that kind of disc next time.

If you check your DVD you will probably find that there are 2 ways of recording discs. One is video. Try recording on that, if it doesn't work try the other way. One of them will work. I had the same trouble with mine.
