NOOoooooooo!!! Don't hug her in front of her family!!! also NO touching!! NO kisses!!
Do the casual thai greeting, the "wai"
You should also learn do's and don't's before going there. You can ask your girlfriend about this. She know better about her family culture than us.
You may have some souvenirs for her and her parents. It's very nice!!
You can learn some basic Thai word. Thai people love when foreigner can speak Thai. That is a PLUS PLUS.
Dont forget your smile!! Do like Thais do. Thais smile when they are happy, angry, nervous, for everthing!! ;)
Wish a good luck for you!

Simple hug will do. The Thai family will be able to handle this. Other things, be as polite as you can. I'm Thai.

The safest bet is no hugging, no kissing, and as was said to wai. As farang, to wai someone may feel a bit odd but it will be taken quite well.
The Thai aren't terribly keen on public displays of affection, and as you don't "know" her family you don't want to risk that they are WAY old school and would be offended by you even holding her hand in front of them.
The other suggestion of just following her lead is good, but take it as the lead, don't improvise.
It's hard to say not knowing your entire background or hers, but play it on the safe side for the first meeting, first impressions go a long way.

her parents wouldn't like if u hugged her or kissed her in front of them, some parents don't mind, but some strictly stick with the culture, girls being reserved. just SMILE, and do the thai greeting to her parents. oh, they may not even like if u hold hands!

Since it is in public and it is her parents.
Modern: Follow her lead. If she does not come forward to hug you, then don't. She will probably bow or wai to you. Do not grab her hand or try to touch her. Unless she does. When she introduces her parents makes sure you wai lower than them. To show respect. Yes, and definitely smile.
Traditional: Bow or wai to each of them. And again wai lower than they do to her parents. And SMILE
It would be good to greet them in Thai also. Regardless if they understand english or not. And make sure you use the honorifics for your elders.
Good luck.

Yeah, sounds like it. yet everybody is distinct. i understand that's severe to me. i do not favor to introduce basically any lady to my dad and mom or relatives. because if that's a classic element that I do with each and every lady then my relatives might want to imagine that they are basically some hoe. Which usually it continually seems that way. yet yeah, it is severe i imagine. ;]
