the tv is a kv-14m1u
i tried connecting the ps2 both through its RCA cables on the front video in of the tv,and with an RCA-scart adaptor on the back
still no colour
when it starts up i get colour,but it goes away when i get in the game.
any ideas?

This wouldn't happen to be an NTSC PS2 by chance, would it? If you're trying to feed an NTSC signal into a PAL only TV set, sometimes it will just come out black and white, that is if it even will sync at all.

i'm afraid that yellow is purely meant to flow with yellow... however does your new flat show have any S-video factors? as this can be your ideal guess as S-video clips are literally not as intense priced :)
