no way!! you should have a balanced diet. count your calorie intake is that best. it may be a hassle at first but once you get used to it it will not be a problem and you'll be eating healthier and you won't be gaining all those extra pounds and voila!, lose weight.
eat right, not eat less!! select a low fat meal...wich must include all the go grow and glow foods. you may avoid eating white rice.. but you must supplement it with other foods like wheat bread but never a pasta. pasta packs in the pounds faster than you can say "oh ****! my pants can't fit!"
here are some guidelines to a healthy and successful diet
Nutritional and Low Fat Meal Guidelines
Commit to consuming 4 - 6 small meals and snacks everyday. (this prevents you from binging, which is the deadliest of all. eat small snacks. and i mean small. it tricks your tummy to think that he is full)
To succeed, you must plan ahead by packing your foods the night before. Thus, you should always have fresh and low-fat foods around.
Keep it simple. Don't get too caught up on the specifics or your diet. Start by simply just counting calories.
Eat your foods slower. (it takes a few minutes for the stomach to tell the brain that you're full. so stop when you feel you're 40% full. ever stopped eating when you are full? by then, you are already OVERFULL and you feel like your tummy is goona burst if you sneeze...well..cuz iv been there done that)
Make healthier food selections like fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, and beans, low-fat or nonfat dairy products, low fat meats, fish and skinless poultry.
Avoid foods that are high in fat and calories.
Avoid foods that are high in sugars such as pastries, candy bars, pies and candy. (no cookies please!! this is such a no-no. no matter how much they presse that are are lo-calorie cookie and no sugar added! avoid frappuccinos they pack in pounds FAST!!!)
Use a variety of fruits and vegetables in your nutrition plan. Start by trying to eat 5 total vegetable and fruit servings every single day.
there you go. i hope you stick to it and lose weight! :)

That's not a diet it's starvation and deprivation. Have you been living on the moon regarding breakfast "the most important meal of the day"!
Pasta is fine as long as you don't cover it with high fat dressings.
have a wholewheat cereal for brekkie, fruit for snacks and main meals with low fat carbs & proteins.
Geez, this society has a lot to answer for!
Pasta does NOT "pack on the pounds" it what you DO with it. Some years ago, I followed the Slimming World way of eating (without the happy clappy classes) This is basically green & red days. On red days you can eat unlimited lean meat and limit your carbs, on green days carbs are unlimited but you limit your meat. I'm a BIG eater, I was having like 5 jacket potatoes (on green days) with other veg & a little meat/fish. I also ate LOADS of pasta on green days. I actually lost 2 stones (28 pounds) but most of all I was never hungry, always full!
The main thing for losing weight and staying healthy is to limit your unhealthy fats & burn more calories than you take in.

how much you need to eat depends on your height and body type. you don't want to shock your system either with too much(cal, sugar, simple carbs, fats) or too little (cal, vitamins, protean, veggies, calcium) of anything. You also want to eat often about ever 2-3 hours eating your largest meal in morning. if i where eating like that i would be moody and feel very little energy. you also need to move more.( take the stares when you get off work to your car, go window shopping, play with your kids(if you have any) or thing that gets you moving) eating like you are not might help you lost weight but are really going to eat like this for life? that would be the only way to keep weight off if you lose any. to top it off what if you do lose weight more likely it will not be fat but lean mass and water. the weight you will gain after you start eat as did before(and you will no matter even if you did lose anything) this be mostly fat because you body will think that it need to store food seeing that you are starving you body, mind and soul. you should eat healthy not to lose weight or look great but because you to be the best person that you can be. a health diet helps you get sick less often and you makes a person mind clearer, it's helps deal better with stress. good luck nothing extreme every thing has to be in balance.
