they have minimum and maximum weight requirements before enlisting. Talk to a recruiter and he can tell you exactly what you need to do in order to enlist. Also, don't expect to be around your buddy throughout your military time. They may promise you bootcamp together, but eventually you'll probably be separated. See a recruiter and just talk to them. That's where the "learning" starts. If you're to heavy, they'll let you know what you need to "lose" before you can go to bootcamp. Bootcamp will get you into "shape".....you just have to meet the weight requirements before you can get there.

There are weight standards, but if you are not grossly overweight, they will take you. In bootcamp, they will work the pounds off of you. We had a guy in bootcamp that lost about 60 pounds in the three months we were in bootcamp.
Your rations will be limited. They will not allow you to get deserts during meals, and will monitor it closely. During bootcamp, you will be surpised how the pounds melt away.
Jenny craig and slimfast have nothing on military bootcamp.

He must have talked to you about the buddy system I presume? You do know he gets money if he can get someone to go in with him?

Some of my Boot Camp Buddies were "FAT" not just out of shape. We need good people that can learn and do work. If you and your bud are ready we welcome you. I do not know where you are from Canada, USA , ANZAC and the UK all have fine proud histories and Proud fighting Men And Women, Welcome!!!
