I wouldn't say for certain but, I'd buy him some comfortable shoes for his birthday this year.
You might want to hire an attorney on this one.

This is pretty serious going 45 mph over the speed limit. You should put some limitations for his license and take it away for a while or something to that effect. Teenagers (i'm assuming) drive fast and they do not know of the consequenses. How old is your son anyways?
If this continues, I'm sure the license will be lost however a good attorney may help.

i'm a probation officer and going 45 miles over the speed limit is actaully not just a speeding ticket it is a also a charge for reckless endangerment.. grab a good attorney if ur in northwest ohio i have the names of some really good attorneys if u can just get him cited on the speeding ticket he more than likely will just get a fine and court costs but if they tap him with reckless endangerment he could loose his license for 6 months.. i would highly recommend getting an attorney

In all seriousness, that'd depend on his likeyhood of being caught.
But for the sake of argument, chances are he's already BEEN caught since you're asking. In the state of California, if you have a third “at fault” accident or conviction within 12 months, you will be suspended for six months and be placed on probation for one year. The rules may be stricter or harsher depending on your state regs as well as how well you know your local police. They might go easy or throw the book at 'em.
It'd be your call wether your son DESERVES the book thrown at him or not. Sometimes we've got to hit the metaphysical brick walls to prevent ourselvse from hitting the REAL brick walls.

Pretty good. In most states that offense can be classifed as "Reckless Driving," which can result in the driver having his/her license suspended.

If the court doesn't take it, you should think about taking it, provided he is still a minor.
