The trick to housetraining is you don't try to stop your dog soiling anywhere; you make him a spot to use as a dog loo, take him there and wait, and reward him when he uses it.
He has no way of knowing where you want him to go unless you show him!
Make the loo by marking it with bricks or planks, take him there on the lead every two hours and wait patiently for a few minutes. Bait the spot with some of his waste to give him the idea, and reward him when he uses it.

The answer is simple - do not let any dog sleep on the same bed as you do, make sure he/she has their own basket/bed preferably downstairs or in an outhouse (much healthier for all concerned)
Once they lose the "cosseted" familiarity entanglement they will be more "secretive" where they shat.

dont pet him when he does but make a HUGE fuss of him when he poos in the right place also try pulling on his lead when he goes to poo so he cant and take him in the garden straight away

this might sound weird but min does excactly the same,he wont go on the gass but its much better becauseits easier to scoop up.
when its on the grass it goes onto every blade and is hard to get rid of.
