I never had a Pomeranian but there are a few things you can do before you pick a puppy: you can ask the breeder for pictures of the parents or previous litters.(sometimes, dog owners will keep in touch with the breeder, email pictures etc).
Also, there are a few things you can do that may influence your decision: observe the puppies, see if the one you like is playful or shy,if he/she is calm or not. I picked my puppy because he was the first one that came running to me and started licking my face.
You may also check the puppy yourself: check the teeth, the nose (it should be moist),anus, feel its paws, let the puppy walk around pay attention if everything seems right.
Before you pick up the puppy, make sure you have everything you need so he/she will feel comfortable in the new home: a puppy bed, maybe a crate if u decide to crate-train it. Bowls for food and water, puppy food (the breeder will indicate which one is best),toys and a collar with a name tag (the puppy's name, your address and phone #). Most of all : time, patience and lots of LOVE! The first few nights will be rough but it will get better.
No matter what kind of puppy you decide to get, he/she will be yours for the rest of its life and love you unconditionally. Good luck ! I wish you all the best!

YOU* shouldn't!!!

IF you're dealing w/a REPUTABLE breeder, not just some moron BYB down the road,**THEY'LL** CHOOSE the CORRECT pup!!!

THEY know color & TEMPERAMENT(& everything ELSE)...*you* don't!

I never let people pick their pup-they don't know SQUAT & *I* do! I know ALL the dogs behind them & the particular pups since BEFORE they born.
