being looked for, what would you do if you knew where he was? He's got a drug problem, but outside of that, he's always been a pretty good kid. Really had no upbringing or any parents to show him any love or guidance. He's always looked down on himself, when he is a good person but making bad decisions in his young life. How would you handle a situation like that?

He's facing 20 years. 2 counts of escape. He was an inpatient at a rehab, left out for work release and split for drugs, and a girlfriend that uses herself. it's 10 years per escape in the state he's from.

I'm not hiding him or anything, but someone else is.

I'm not sure if your hiding him, but the police could charge you (although it depends on the seriousness of the charges against him). I think I'd talk to him and get him to turn himself in. Let him know that you will help him in anyway he can, if (and only if) he promises to seek help for his drug problem.

The court may take it in to consideration that he turned himself in. Tell him the sooner he clears up whatever it is he's done, the sooner he can get on the path to recovery.

Good luck to both of you!

You should turn him in but not let him know it was you. Believe me I have been where you are right now and had to do that very same thing but you know what? That person is now drug free and has a great life with kids and a wonderful wife who understands him and his background. Take it from me he will thank you later on in life! You just might be saving his life you never know!!

I would probably tell where he is. It would be bad if he did go to jail, but that might be the very thing that will save his life by not being able to do drugs while incarcerated.

Harboring a know criminal is a serious offense. In my opinion he made his bed he can lie in it. If he asks for help so as to change himself then do so.
