Try John Frieda's blowdry thickening lotion, you can get it from Boots or Superdrug. I spray it on the roots then dry my hair upside down, and it gives loads of volume and isn't sticky or flakey. It's also quite cheap in price.

I have used mousse but don't like them as when it rains i find the mousse makes my hair very sticky. But a good one for dry days is Beyond the Zone's Power Lift mousse, available from Sally's Beauty Supply stores. Try a search in Google for their website to find the nearest one to you.

I have very fine hair and the best thing I've found is Charles Worthington Big Hair mousse. It has a realy narrow nozzle so you put it right on the roots. It feels a bit funny and drying when you first put it on but once you blow-dry it's fine and it does give you volume that lasts longer than it takes to walk out of the door in the morning!

I've tried them all and the best, believe me, is Aussie Leave In Volumizer. You can often find it in Superdrug branches, and it really works and isn't sticky at all.

try blow-drying your hair upsidedown. it actually works. i mean like sticking your head towards the ground and blow-dry, starting at the back of the neck and drying towards your forehead
