All these so-called 'Christian' leaders who have, and continue to, drag us into wars claiming 'God is on our side'. Especially Bush, who believes 'God is directing him' in his war on terror.

Did God not say 'Thou shalt not kill'?!

Its...... really, a VERY simple statement. Even Bush could understand that surely. Yet all of these war-mongering leaders conveniently seem to forget this command, which is hardly a minor one at that.

How could God possibly be on your side if you are killing people?!

Janbull.. He didn't say that at all. What He actually said was "You have heard it was SAID 'an eye for an eye', but I say to you: Love your enemies".

It is amazingly frustrating how many people misunderstand that.

The original Hebrew word more accurately translates the passage as "Thou shalt not MURDER," a fairly large difference. Please get yourself a key word study Bible and do some research on the matter.

On another note, what are you doing quoting a passage from a book that you don't believe in and don't read in the first place?

Ever since the Bible was written, Christians have been going against what it says. They twist thier actions and logic in such a way that it's okay to do the opposite of what their rule book says.
They also pick and choose what to follow and what not to follow in the Bible. Hence the reason why there are so many Christian sects.

For example, in Leviticus, homosexual acts are an abomination, but so is eating shell fish. And I sure do see a lot of Chistians go to Red Lobster after church. But boy, they sure have no problem listening to a guy standing behind the pulpit preaching to them the evil ways of gay people.

Have you not noticed through history that religon and politics go hand in hand? Imo a lot of religon is a way to get people to believe that a particular form of politics is correct, from an historical perspective. After all did the Romans not accept Chritianity to keep control?

I hate to be a pedant, and I won't pester you to read the bible (I don't), but the commandment is not "thou shall not kill". It is actually "thou shall not murder". I know in common sense terms there doesn't appear to be any difference between the two, but the wafer-thin legalistic distinction allows war to continue - professional soldiers don't commit murder when they kill the enemy.

Which isn't to say that the Iraq war/war on terror is utterly monstrous and scarcely justifiable

Bush is the worst of them all. How can God be on someone's side who kills LOADS of innocent people? I think Bush only says he's a good christian so that more people are on his side.

Of course it's an unjust war. The so called war on terror is a weapon against the people of the world to instill fear so that we become passive. George Bush is being used by much more powerful men than him, he's a pawn who will take the blame. His faith in God has nothing to do with the manipulation of the world stage.

Xtians justify it by being innocent or not innocent. A murderer is a bad person, but thou shalt not kill. They are mostly for thedeath penalty though. As for the innocent bit, they seem to think a clump of unformed cells is a baby, and aborting it is murder. Xtians confuse the hell out of me with their justifications and excuses. Maybe one day a truly righteous person wil explain it all without telling me Im going to hell for being Jewish, or not believing in their messiah. But somehow I doubt it.

The only problem with the Ten Commandments is that most people think they are multiple choice!

KIlling terrorists isnt bad. If Bush doesnt step up to the plate and stop this threat to the world then who will? Havent you seen all the attacks that the terrorists are raging on virtually every continent? Something needs to be done.

Its funny how they justify killing in many cases recognized by the church by finding technicalities that permit it. Like when a lawyer gets some one off the hook for a crime that he clearly did by using a technicality. Its like, cmon man, you know what its intended for.
