i have recently been placed on a diet with an extremely limited scope and am already bored to death with the same food over and over again.....

Honestly I swear by Food Network.com. I am addicted! They have the greatest and healthy recipes I've tried. Also try cooks.com, you may need to fish around for a minute, but I've found some great recipes!

Depending on what the restrictions are, I would go to Google or Yahoo and type in the name of the illness that is causing restrictive diet and something like "food to eat" or "what foods to avoid.
