Is it true that being too close to dogs can make us contaminated with toxoplasm and rubella virus which is bad for baby, causing it to suffer from autism or born without skull?
Coz I have a friend who was very close to dogs when she's pregnant, now the baby is born dead without skull. The doctor said that the virus came from dog

Anyone has information about it and how to prevent this?

i have only ever heard of it coming from cat feces. ( or raw meat) I checked out the first 20 of these sites, and all say 'cats' or raw meat, not dogs. > http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&q=toxoplasmosis+pregnant+defects&btnG=Google+Search
Check this one out, as it tells all> http://www.cdc.gov/NCIDOD/dpd/parasites/toxoplasmosis/factsht_toxoplasmosis.htm#spread

I'm pregnant now, and I'm also a pet-sitter. My OBYN says its fine to be around both cats and dogs, but that I shouldn't change the cat litter,or be in the room while it's being changed because the virus can be inhaled that way. The virus is carried by cats. They get it when they play with or kill a rodent that is also carrying the virus. If she were around any rodents it would be possible to get it that way but from a dog is very unlikely.
