Orthodox Judaism, because they believe in the resurrection of the body at the last day. No body, no resurrection.

I would only assume that any religion which forbids it would be for a very similar reason.

So, all those people who have been burnt alive for the gospel cannot be resurrected?

That's rubbish.

I would like to be cremated because this body of mine is nothing but sin and I would like to be totally free from it. However, my family told me that they would only cremate a family member after many years because the pain in seeing one being burnt is too tormentous.

Islam bans cremation and body part exchanges, which is absurd because today, the muslims don't have enough kidneys to go around for kidney dis-orders.

The bible says a new body will be given. So, who cares what happens to this body.

Well, we Jews dont believe in cremation, because when the mosiach (messiah) comes for the FIRST time, the dead will rise from their graves. However, I dont really believe this. I want to be cremated, because I believe it sets the soul free, and I also dont want to be buried under earth. being eaten by worms for eternity, even though the body is just a shell. i want to be set free, above the surface of the Earth.

Islam.

Because in Islam we are to respect the human body whether alive or dead and may I add that discarding bodies to be eaten by animals is also forbidden.

Another one of the reasons is that our knowledge of what happens to the person after death is limited, and, therefore, Allah alone knows what is good and bad for us in an ultimate sense.

What should be remembered here is that we should treat the deceased person with the utmost of compassion, just as we would treat a person who is alive.
