Well, this is a complicated question...
But, I know exactly how you feel, since i face the same matter, but i'm working out a way.
* First off all: music - and all kind of art, was actually a doing of worship. Arts first came as worship to God. Even the highest Angel of 3 was Lucifer the Angel of music and worshiping, until He/She became proud of Him/Herself and wants to be higher then the Lord, so He/She cast away to the dessert called Earh and given the authorothy to govern the Earth - even until now.
* Now, I'm not forcing you to be a good believer, but one thing for me, I never want to be a half hearted to anything i do and i believe, so that i believe in Jesus, i must believe fully, and worship Him fully.
* In this world, there's only 2 source, the Lord or the Devil, there's no middle way, no-neutral side.
Same goes to what you're doing, it's only for the Lord or for Satan...
Thus you must choose, remember everything that finger-warm has no part in Heaven.
* Everything and doing could be judged, is it for the Lord's Glory, or not..... and that means its for the Devil....
* I'm not saying that somekind/genre of music was evil... there's no evil music/art, there's only evil human that use atrs/music.
* So, i'm saying if you like Metal Rock, go find one that praise Jesus, why not? well, it's rare to find, i know...
That's why, the Lord point me - His servant, to make one... really, i'm not being proud of myself by saying this, i've just hoped that i inspired you...
* the Lord gave me a vision, to compose music to glorify His name, but not a common Pop song, i mean a progresive music, a contemporer music, an experimental music. anything that you'll rarely found for spiritual music.
If you want to, i'll send you something when it's done, how is that?
And you can try contact me at: n_rue_7@yahoo.com
Hope this help You
Bless You

Since you have been called GOD, as the man above, you already do not show any respect for Him.How com you tell me that you actualy love Him.
When a Christian person said: I love you God!,that means there is nothing else more important to you then Him.(You are willing to give up any thing else if you have to choose betwen God and any other thing).
Jesus said: Mathew 6:24 No one can serve two masters.Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.(When He talked about money,He don't refer only to that but to any thing that keeps you away from Him).
1 John 2:15 Donot love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16 For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from from the Father but from the world.
1 John 2:17 The world and its desaires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives for ever.
Christian music it's not intended to satisfy you,but to worship God.It is a way to tell God "Thank you",I love you so much,I do not have any thing else to offer you because every thing I have is just what you gave me.But at least I can offer you a song, because even my soul recognize taht You are God,my God Almighty.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
GOD BLESS YOU!

It sounds that you are aware that the lyrics of most of this type of music are harmful, or at least they don't edify anything good, they are not uplifting to the human spirit, and they don't edify God.
Generally a measure of how one spends their time is the value the activity renders to the person performing the activity or how valuable the activity is to overall humanity.
Where does listening to this type of music fit on that scale.
It is naive to assume that it is harmless, which you seem to already know.
Ask yourself if the conflict this poses for you worth the value you receive from it. But most importantly if you are sincere about God, ask Him to guide you when you are uneasy about something, and He will either change your taste in music or present you with an acceptable solution.
Good question, God bless you.

Dude music is music. It means differant things to differant pepole. For instance the original "turn the page" was about hippies, then metallica redid it(MUCH better) and twisted it to make it more of a stripper/whore basis. What music means is what you want it to. That is like saying if you play D&D you are summoning the minions of satan. If you think the type of music you listen to defines you then you or your beliefs you are VERY far off.

I'm a Goth that listens to Goth, Death Metal, Industrial, Trance, and Punk music. I'm covered in tattoos as well. None of that affects my love for God. So it's all good. Mosh to your heart's content. :)
Just be careful...I dislocated my thumb while at a Prong concert hehe.

God loves music. But the words, weather you pay attention to them or not are feeding your spirit. There are Groups who play your kind of music with living words, and not death.I've heard them, but I can't think of their names at this moment. Be aware of what goes into your mind. God bless!

i used to listen to sadistic songs... the ones with cursing then my values teacher said that cursing is a bad thing.. just as long as the lyrics doesn't say anything about hate or cursing.. then it's ok.. if you want, make your own music.. it could be the same tune as of those death/dark metal songs but the lyrics would be changed. ask God for forgiveness..
well.. i used to sing those songs with cursing or hating but i never mean those things... you know your limitations... as long as it doesn't shake your faith and it doesn't influence you.

if your are spiritually strong enough to handle such things, and can still believe in Christ than yeah it's OK. But, like water dropping in to a bucket of water, soon it will be filled.
