I just split up with my girlfriend, I dont want to have to sit around and hope she comes back coz I dont know if she wants to. So should I move on now and find some one who would want me?

How long ago did you split?
I would advise you to take a break - this will allow you to think over and confirm whether the decision to split was right for both of you. During this time your gf also may be thinking over and it could well be back to business. What if you already moved on with somebody else and later realise that your gf wanted to be back with you.
One thing is there is a relation here - someone you already know. There is intimacy - I think that pondering, be it for one week or two, is worth.

if you two split, why would she come back? if you want her back, go for it. if you don't, stay single for awhile and have fun till you meet someone else special. give yourself time to figure out what you want first before you move. then be happy with what you choose and choose what you like!

If you just broke it off with her, she is not going to come back to you but rather, she will wait for you to go back to her. Now, if she broke up with you, it's time you move on. Especially if, you have already given her some time to come back to you and she hasn't done that yet.
