the treatment of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) is best treated by a hot bath and more exercise. Not hard work -but a more gentle, sustained form of exercise will ease any soreness you have better t han either resting or drugs. You need to gently work through it

Ice should be used for muscle soreness instead of heat. Heat would be best used to relieve tightness of your muscles.

When you lift weights you rip muscle fiber. When it heals the muscle is a little bit bigger and stronger, so my advise is what i do. protein! eat your body weight in grams of protein and you won't be as sore.
