my doctor said i need to get a brace to prevent my scoiosis from getting worse. it will go from my chin to hips he said. has anyone had one of these what is it like. i am going on monday for measurements and casting what is that like what do they do?

I wore a brace for almost three years, from the age of 12 to the age of 14. The casting process is no big deal - it takes a while, and sometimes the plastic is hot from them warming it up to shape it and stuff, but it doesn't hurt. Mostly its boring and occasionally, its uncomfortable but not much. Basically, they just take your measurements and look at your curves and your x-rays and stuff, then you go back later to get your final fitting. At least, that's the way it was for me....
