My husband plays in a community league and they are pretty rough. I think that he should rest, but he said that sweating is good.

If you just sit around when you have a cold, then you will get all congested and the stuff will settle in your lungs and you'll feel awful.

It's good to get up on your feet and move around a bit when you have a cold. It will clear up your nose and lungs. Also your hubby should use some Day-Quil and Mucinex to control the nose running and congestion and stuffy head, and all the aches and pains that comes along with a cold.

Makes sure hubby drinks a gallon of water a day whilst he has a cold to thin out the mucus and keep him hydrated. And Yes, I think it's ok for him to go on and exercise while having a cold.

It really depends on the type of cold and duration. If he is almost over his cold it is a good thing to sweat it out. But if he feels something just coming on, it might be a flu and exercising will spread it really fast all over his body. He should check his neck lymph nodes and see if they are swollen. If so, probably best to avoid exercise.

he is stupid. if he has a cold caused by virus then his blood will rush faster and can deliver virus to the heart. then your hubby is screwed - he either will become an invalid or will be ill for a way long time. and no basketball for years. u may research yourself on internet, put smth like col and exercising or smth like that. u should rest if u have cold. sweat is good if u re in bed and drinking smth hot

It is fine to play sport while you have a cold, just make sure you drink more fluids than usual.
The only downside of playing while your sick is you can come up with quite a fever and I often find I get a bit of a headache.
but theres nothing that could harm you by doing it.

He'll be fine, but it's not very considerate--he could easily pass his cold on to others through his contact with the ball.
