It does usually mean he needs time alone. If he's saying that, you should also treat yourself to some time alone. It works on two levels, firstly he needs to know that he's still allowed to be his own person when he is with you and secondly, he needs to know that you can live without him being there all the time. Guys like to be wanted but not to be needed so much. Be ok with it, enjoy the space and he'll come back happily when he's ready. If he doesn't then don't chase - nothing worse than hanging out with a guy who doesn't really want to be there!

Not usually.... Ive said that before and i meant 'i need a bit of time alone', just to chill out, not cause i wanted to end the relationship. I'm not co-dependant on anyone and don't mind being on my own now and again where as some people always need others around... hope this helps

A hidden meaning could be, "you're an insecure nag, I need some privacy". A not so hidden meaning: you need to back off and give him space. Don't be a stalker, get a hobby.

Not usually. They just need to be alone. You should both be having some alone time. That makes for a much healthier relationship. I use to think that my husband was weird when he told me that he looked forward to missing me before he or I went out to do something with friends on our own. But I get it now. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I don't think it usually means anything different to just that - that he needs some time to himself!

Try not to read too much into it and just take a bit of a step back... i'm sure things will definitely return back to normal quickly!

Take care and all the best!

There is no hidden meaning. All he is saying is "get off my case. I want to go on the beers with the lads"

you are probably just yapping too much. Give the guy a break. All heterosexual males say things like this.

It's a wonder he didn't say he needed more space, while he was at it But maybe you have got that to look forward to.

It's no big deal.

it depends. but u know, if i heard that from a guy i would just leave him alone. maybe he has some problems that he has to figure out himself and he needs some alone time. if you pester him about it, it will just make him irritated and mad. you could say "o are u sure?" but dont look into it, just let him be.

Well it means that they need to clear some things with themselves and need some space and time to make up their mind on their OWN.
