Its best you see the reports for yourself. These are unbiased reports mind you.

I use Kaspersky Antivirus 6 because it is the right solution for me and I'm happy with it. It allows me to control aspects of it so that I can do things that are processor critical and must not be disturbed. It has proactive defense and much more. It was the best of the bunch with version 5 with zoo viruses, but it is still top notch to me!

They allow a free fully functional 30 day trial and it actually uninstalls when you wish to do so, unlike pre Norton 2003 software has done in the past. I don't like Symantec (Norton) anymore because of how the company is run and how buggy and automated control freaky their software is.

If you want to be safe, you can always try using the publicly well known anti virus software such as McAfee or Norton, just make sure that when you are installing your anti virus, you update it. Because any anti virus will not be effective if you don't update it.

Norton Internet Security

A better way to put it is that Norton is the most common. It takes up a TON of disk space and slows the machine down ... oh, and you have to pay for update for the software you paid for already. There is a free antivirus that is as good as the big boys already mentioned. Avast! antivirus is free and works just as well as those expensive ones. Aside from being free, it doesnt take up half your harddrive. I run Norton on one of my machines, but decided to go with Avast! on my older one. It works great, the size is great, updates are kept current automatically ... for free. Check out thier site bellow. There is a pay version for business, but there is a fully free version.
