Many colleges and private colleges offer courses which can lead you to become a corrections officer.

Your best bet is to take a required college course, graduate and start from there. Also, most colleges offer placement programs after completion of required program.

You may also need to be at least physically and mentally fit for a corrections officer, probably not to the extreme as a police officer but I assume you would need to be in some shape.
